This scenic itinerary begins near the French border and guides you westward along Spain’s lush northern edge – a region known as Green Spain. Expect dramatic coastal cliffs, soaring peaks, charming villages and elegant Paradors, each one carefully chosen to showcase the very best of the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia.

General Conditions

Route available from January to June and September to December 2026.
The stay starts on Sunday and finishes on Sunday.
Subject to availbility
Neither dates of the stay nor the establishments can be varied or modified during the route.
This route and rate are not valid for groups.
A credit card will always be required as a guarantee of the reservation.

Cancellations and appearance

The price of the first night of the route shall be the cancellation fee charged for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the day of arrival.
Cancellations made during the route shall not be entitled to any refund of the price paid.
No appearance: If the guest does not appear on the first day of the route, it will imply the cancellation of the complete route and the payment of the first night as a cancellation fee. Taxes included.

The route includes

A 7-night stay in a standard double room on the chosen basis (bed and breakfast or half board).

The route does not include

Transport shall be at the expense of the guests, as will the tours and access to monuments or places of interest (the information offered is of a merely indicative nature).

Itinerary

Day 1

Your journey starts just outside Vitoria-Gasteiz, the historic capital of the Basque Country. Nestled in the peaceful Alavese plains, the Parador offers countryside calm with access to local vineyards and bodegas. Nearby, Vitoria’s vibrant cultural scene awaits, from cutting-edge modern art at Artium to the charming Fournier Playing Card Museum. It’s a perfect mix of rural serenity and cultural discovery.

Day 2 & 3

From the inland plains to Cantabria’s verdant coast, your next stop is the graceful Parador de Limpias. Surrounded by lush gardens and a short drive from Laredo, this elegant retreat offers access to some of northern Spain’s most charming coastal towns – including Castro Urdiales and Santoña. Don’t miss a visit to the Church of San Pedro, a site of spiritual intrigue and quiet beauty. You’re also within easy reach of Bilbao’s iconic Guggenheim Museum or the seaside elegance of Santander.

Day 4

Prepare for a breathtaking journey through mountain roads as you arrive in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. The Parador de Fuente Dé is set at the base of soaring peaks – and just steps from a cable car that whisks you up to jaw-dropping panoramas. Whether you’re hiking a mountain trail or simply enjoying the alpine silence, this is a night to reconnect with nature in all its grandeur.

Day 5

Continuing west, you’ll arrive in one of Asturias’ most atmospheric towns. Cangas de Onís is a gateway to the wild beauty of the Picos, with riverside trails, Roman bridges, and historic sanctuaries like Covadonga all close by. The nearby Covadonga Lakes are a must for those seeking serenity in high-altitude splendour. Wildlife lovers will be delighted to know this region is home to some of Spain’s elusive brown bears.

Day 6

Crossing into Galicia, the charming Parador de Ribadeo sits beside the estuary of the River Eo, offering sweeping sea views and a peaceful setting. This is the place for seafood feasts and coastal walks – especially to the iconic Cathedral Beach, where dramatic rock formations create natural arches over the sand. Enjoy the maritime spirit of this Galician gem.

Day 7

Your final stop is Vilalba – a historic inland town where ancient watchtowers, spa waters, and natural wetlands define the landscape. Enjoy a restful night in a property full of character, with nearby highlights such as the Lagunas de Valverde, Cospeito wetlands, and the charming town of Mondoñedo, known for its cathedral and artisanal heritage.
